First of all, a cure for ringing ears, commonly known as tinnitus, can be very rare indeed. In fact, if you have a condition known as “subjective tinnitus,” chances are you may only be able to find relief for those ringing, whistling and screeching noises in your head.

Does this mean the noises aren’t real – only brought forth by an over-active imagination? No, these noises are very real to tinnitus sufferers. In order to get relief from the ringing in your ears, you should try to learn what caused these noises in the first place – then, you may be able to find relief .

Loud Noises

In over 80% of tinnitus cases, excessively loud noises can be blames for causing the ringing in the ears. Loud noises, either one-time super-loud events, or years of exposure to constantly loud noises can damage the sensitive parts of the cochlea – the part that turns sound waves into electrical impulses for the brain to process.

If you are still exposed to loud noises, it is possible to keep your tinnitus from getting worse by wearing ear protection – ear plugs or head phones. Also, make sure the volume on your personal music devices (ipod, etc.) are turned down to a low level.

Healthy Diet & Regular Exercise

After loud noises, one of the biggest causes of ringing in the ears is inadequate nutrition – a poor diet. Exercise, or the lack of, also can play a role in the severity of tinnitus. Good blood flow throughout the body, especially in the ears, can have a profound effect on the level of tinnitus.

Some studies have suggested that vitamin B12 may play a role in reducing the severity of tinnitus, although if you eat a normal, healthy diet, additional doses of B12 are not necessary.

Smoking cigarettes, which has been proven to constrict blood vessels and cause high blood pressure, excessive alcohol consumption and high salt intake can be factors in your tinnitus.

Some Hope For Medical Relief

Dr. John Shea, of the Memphis Ear Clinic in Memphis, TN has had some success in relieving tinnitus in some cases with severe ringing noises by injecting the inner ear with a dose of the anesthetic lidocaine. Common sense might assume that once the lidocaine wore off, the noises would return. But Dr. Shea had some success in eliminating the ear ringing in several cases – this might be called a cure for tinnitus.

Since no official studies have been done on this procedure, this procedure cannot be called a true cure. But, it does offer hope.

Alternative Therapies Can Give Relief

Some tinnitus sufferers have reported that using a “white noise generator” has helped their symptoms greatly. White noise, which can be the sounds of running water or waves at the beach, can mask the ringing by giving the brain some light noise to replace the tinnitus sounds.

This technique may help those who have trouble sleeping due to the noises in their ears.

The important thing to remember is that there are many alternative treatments available to tinnitus sufferers. Try a few, and chances are if one doesn’t help you, there will be one that will. Just don’t give up in your quest for tinnitus relief.

The symptoms of Tinnitus are manifested in various forms, all of which include a ringing in the ears that can just about drive some people crazy.

Tinnitus pain is a real pain in the… ear. The question is, “Can it be stopped?” and the answer is YES!” But why stop with getting rid of the pain, when you can get rid of the tinnitus also?

The symptoms of Tinnitus are manifested in various forms, all of which include a ringing in the ears that can just about drive some people crazy. My experience with tinnitus can be described more as more screeching in the ears. Extremely irritating!

I’m not sure when my tinnitus started, but I am sure that working in construction with all those loud noises for many years had something to do with it.

Almost everyone has experienced a loud ringing in the ear after hearing a loud bang, but it soon goes away. The problem with tinnitus is that it continues on for months or years, and can include tinnitus pain When that’s the case, getting rid of it sounds very good!

Beware Of The Naysayers And Discouragers!

If you have tinnitus, don’t be discouraged by the thought that you will have to put up with it for the rest of your life. There is hope! But there are also those “naysayers” in life who seem to make it their mission to make things harder on people who are suffering.

Whenever you are dealing with any physical problem that few people understand, there is always going to be those people who offer huge doses of discouragement and hopelessness. They say you are stuck with tinnitus and there is nothing you can do about it…so “quit your whining.”

Others say things like (I’ve gotten this one from doctors), “It’s all in your head…are you happy at home..?” Don’t let them discourage you. Yes, tinnitus is in your head, but not the way they mean it. It is a real problem, often with real pain that can be dealt with!

Tinnitus Pain – Get Educated!

It has been said that “Knowledge is power.” I believe that is true in every area of our life. Without knowledge you are left in the dark and are at the mercy of whatever weird idea comes along.

I encourage you to educate yourself about tinnitus. Get your information from someone who has been there, felt what you feel, and has conquered the same problem you have. Someone who can truly help you get rid of that tinnitus and the pain that so often comes with it. Learn from the winners, not the losers.

Learn How To Get Rid Of Your Tinnitus And Its Pain!

There are many “tinnitus cures” being offered to tinnitus sufferers, but few help, and even fewer eliminate it.

There are those who offer drugs (with their side affects), those who offer laser therapy (with no proven success studies…and it’s costly too) and others who offer psychology (is it all in your mind?).

These options can all be expensive and ineffective. Knowing what I know now, I would suggest you start by learning from the best teacher. It has been said that “experience it the best teacher,” and I believe that to be true.

However, you don’t have to learn how to eliminate your tinnitus and its pain by your own trial and error. You can find out how to get rid of that annoying ringing in your ears from someone who has done it. For more information on tinnitus visit this Do Tinnitus Products Work? page.
